Creating Your Very Own, Low-Cost Fortune Teller Booth
Step 1:To make the fortune teller booth, we started by making a PVC frame. The dimensions that we used fit the animatronic that we put inside. | Step 2:We secured a sheet of cardboard along the front with zip ties and duct tape. | Step 3:Next, we lined up our animatronic and cut out a hole in the front for her to look through. |

Step 4:For the top piece, we cut out a piece of foam. We didn't attach it in place yet, because we still had to paint and add letters to it. | Step 5:Then, we started on the words that would be adorning the front of the booth. While you could always paint these on, we decided to design ours online and then print them out.
Step 6:Then, we painted the front cardboard piece and foam top piece with purple acrylic paint. We also attached black plastic table cloths along the sides with duct tape. This addition helped to make it light-weight, portable, and inexpensive. | Step 7:After painting, we added in gold curtains (table cloths), and taped them back.
Step 8:After the paint had dried, we began to assemble our letters onto the booth. To glue them down, we used caulking glue.
Step #9Once all of the text and images were glued on, we attached the top piece of the booth to the PVC frame by used zip ties.
Step 10:Then, finish adding all of the decorations that you want to the booth. We plan on adding a circus poster to the bottom of it. |
